Project Overview:

Enzygo secured full planning permission for Ash Tree Solar Park, a 16.8MW solar photovoltaic development within the Green Belt in Warwickshire.

Working on behalf of British Solar Renewables, Enzygo managed the complex planning application and coordinated the planning, transport, ecology and archaeological inputs required to support the proposals.

Close collaboration with the Planning Officer and consultees helped resolve key matters during the determination process, resulting in approval at the first Planning Committee.

The challenge

The proposed solar farm’s location within the Green Belt created a sensitive planning context.

The application required a robust planning case supported by coordinated technical evidence. Transport, ecological and archaeological considerations also needed to be carefully assessed and addressed before the proposals could be recommended for approval.

Our role

Enzygo led the planning application and coordinated the multidisciplinary project team.

Our team maintained close communication with the Planning Officer and relevant consultees throughout the application process. This proactive approach allowed questions to be addressed efficiently and ensured that the supporting technical information presented a clear and consistent case for the development.

Our services

Planning

Enzygo managed the planning application and prepared the case supporting the delivery of a major renewable energy development within the Green Belt.

Transport

Transport input considered access, construction traffic and vehicle movements associated with the proposed development.

Ecology

Ecological input assessed potential effects on habitats and protected species, helping to inform the development proposals and appropriate mitigation.

Technical coordination

Enzygo coordinated the planning, transport, ecology and archaeological inputs, ensuring that each technical consideration was properly addressed within the application.

The outcome

Ash Tree Solar Park received full planning permission at the first Planning Committee.

Close collaboration with the Planning Officer and consultees helped resolve technical matters during the application process and secure a positive outcome without the need for resubmission or appeal.

The approval enables the delivery of 16.8MW of new solar generating capacity within Warwickshire.

Ash Tree Solar Park will deliver 16.8MW of additional solar generating capacity, supporting the continued growth of renewable energy infrastructure in the UK.

The project demonstrates how solar development can be successfully progressed within a sensitive Green Belt location through effective planning, coordinated technical evidence and proactive engagement with officers and consultees.

Our Role

The project benefited from expertise across the following Enzygo disciplines.

Ecology
Planning
Transport
