Project Overview:

Enzygo secured full planning permission for an ultra-rapid electric vehicle charging hub in Aberdeen.

Our planning team supported the project from its earliest stages through to determination, providing pre-application engagement, planning strategy, application management and post-submission negotiations.

The successful application established the principle of EV charging infrastructure within a Business Zone and designated Opportunity Area.

The challenge

The proposed charging hub was located within a designated Business Zone and Opportunity Area.

As this represented a new form of infrastructure within the area, the application needed to establish that the development was compatible with the relevant planning designations and would support the area’s future development.

A clear planning strategy and early engagement with the local planning authority were essential to establish the principle of development and address any policy concerns.

Our role

Enzygo provided end-to-end planning support throughout the project.

Our involvement began with pre-application engagement and the development of the planning strategy. We then managed the preparation and submission of the application before leading post-submission discussions with planning officers.

This continuous involvement ensured that the planning case remained clear and consistent at every stage of the process.
