Job Vacancy - Principal or Associate Landscape Architect

Location: Manchester

We are a multidisciplinary environmental consultancy seeking an enthusiastic and motivated senior to principal consultant, with 5-7 years’ experience. The candidate will have a relevant degree in Geography, Earth, Environmental Sciences, Engineering and will have membership or working towards chartership (CIWEM)

This role is office based but there is the possibility for more experienced candidates to be remote/hybrid. The role will include occasional visits to our Sheffield Office (Stocksbridge, Sheffield, S36 2AA).

Qualifications

What we're looking for

Chartership: A Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute (CMLI) or equivalent, often with several years of post-chartership experience.

Software Proficiency: Advanced skills in industry-standard design tools (AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Cloud) with 3D or BIM-compliant platforms (Revit, Civil 3D) an advantage if not essential.

Commercial Acumen: Proven track record of financial control, budget management, and delivering projects on schedule.

Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of the UK planning system, building regulations, and environmental impact guidelines.

Enzygo are looking for a Principal or Associate Landscape Architect in a senior leadership role responsible to manage high-level landscape design/planning, and multidisciplinary project teams, as well as securing new business. They would need to act as the primary design authority, bridging conceptual planning with practical delivery while mentoring junior staff and guiding strategic division goals.

Day-to-day activities include:

•Project Leadership: Spearhead complex landscape design and planning projects from the initial brief through to completion.

•Design and Technical Direction: Review and approve conceptual designs, masterplans, detailed construction documentation, to ensure quality and compliance.

•Planning and Assessment: Lead critical Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments (LVIA) and navigate complex environmental or planning legislations, such as Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG).

•Client and Stakeholder Management: Act as the lead client contact, run stakeholder workshops, present design proposals, and represent the firm at planning inquiries.

•Team Mentorship: Supervise, mentor, and allocate resources across the landscape team, fostering a culture of technical excellence.

•Business Development: Identify opportunities for new business, support bid preparations, and expand the firm’s client base.

Job Vacancy - Senior Ecologist

Senior Ecologist – £35k–£40k per annum

Location: Manchester

We are a multidisciplinary environmental consultancy seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Senior Ecologist, with at least 4/5 years’ experience (or similar)

This role is primarily office based with the opportunity to WFH 1 -2 days per week.

MSc Environment (or equivalent)

Associate CIEEM progressing to Full CIEEM

Technical Skills

As a Senior Ecologist at Enzygo, you’ll lead and mentor team members, manage aspects of team operations, and oversee survey planning and resourcing. You’ll conduct a full range of ecological surveys, including specialist assessments, and produce high-quality reports. Client liaison and business development will be key parts of your role, along with supporting junior staff.

You should be proficient in PEA/UK Habitat Surveys, protected species surveys (GCN, Dormouse, Bat), GIS mapping, and data analysis, with a strong understanding of UK/EU legislation and industry standards. Experience across sectors like quarrying, rail, road, energy, and industrial is beneficial. You’ll also provide input on fees, tenders, budgeting, and project management while ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.

Job Vacancy - Senior to Principal Flood Risk/Hydraulic Modelling Consultant

What we're looking for

Familiar with Flood Risk and Drainage policy/guidance (England, Wales, and Scotland).

Experience preparing flood risk assessments / Modelling reports / water environment ES chapters.

Familiar with Hydrology (FEH Statistical Analysis, ReFH2, WINFAP, etc) and Modelling software (HECRAS, TUFLOW, ESTRY, Flood Modeller, etc).

Strong organisational and time management skills.

Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams, liaising with clients, statutory authorities.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

This is a great opportunity for development towards a senior role taking responsibility for clients / projects and developing project management skills, as well as growing a Hydrology team in a different office (currently focused in Sheffield).   Role Supporting Project Manager delivering Flood Risk Assessments / Hydraulic Modelling (model build and reporting) for a range of projects across the sector with a focus on residential development.

Day-to-day activities include:

Prepare risk assessments and undertake site walkovers and other survey works.

Prepare technical reports (i.e. Flood Risk Assessments, ES Chapters. Modelling reports, Channel Survey Specification) and support the preparation of fee proposals.

Undertake Hydrological Assessments (using industry standard methodology/software – including FEH Statistical Analysis, ReFH2, WINFAP, etc).

Build and run hydraulic models using industry standard software (i.e. HECRAS, TUFLOW, ESTRY, Flood Modeller, etc). We can provide in-house and external training opportunities.

Experience or understanding of model stabilisation and calibration.

Consult the water regulators, statutory authorities, and other stakeholders.

Liaise and provide advice to clients and stakeholders.

Manage time and budgets under guidance from line manager.

Provide guidance and training for junior staff members
